Unlike some other balls that I have seen, most of the girls that night were quite natural, din overdid on make-ups..just nice..haha. must remember to collect more photos from ppl that went : P

The Alpha Course

Alpha Course. Have u heard of it b4? It’s a 10-week course that helps christians and non-christians alike to learn more about faith, regardless of level of knowledge or denominations and have been touching the lives of millions of ppl around the world. Though there has been controversies about the contents, being criticized for making it sounded like receiving a gift without rili appreciate it, in turn loses the real meaning about faith..but I find it still alrite.. as long as ppl cont to grow in faith (yes, im writing in english :P) I din attend each week, in fact jus attended a few, hehe…busy : p But I still find it very rewarding. Nicky Gumbel, the speaker for all these courses is such a gifted man! The way the talks are structured is simply brilliant, the discussion that ensued after each talk is rewarding also. Attended an Alpha weekend event this morning. What can I say? A friend actually asked me what have I learnt from Alpha. Perhaps I should use what Morpheus said in Matrix…“No one can be told what the Matrix is. You have to see it for yourself”. In this case, you’ll have to attend it for yourself. But don go half-way…go for the whole courses if possibe..esp the weekend talks. Be prepared to be inspired :)

South Island Trip

9 days of travel..From Dunedin to Lake Tekapo, Christchurch, Greymouth,
Franz Joseph, Queenstown. Though I must admit I was glad to be back at
home, but I also miss the time when I was traveling with my
friends:P Haven’t had that kind of feelings for a long time:P The leisure
to chat without a barrier although we haven’t met for a few yrs! What can
beat that? We were supposed to meet up only on the 2nd day of travel, so
poor me have to travel alone on the 1st day. It was terrible!! I stop to
wonder how could people travel alone, that’s definitely not my type of
travel :P Thanks for making the trip memorable, my friends. Though it was
bit expensive..haha…(im kedekut):P  but it’s worth it!! Hope u guys enjoy
it as much as I do. Take k guys :)

My fren showed me this video the other day.  It’s very famous in Hong Kong and in fact has became a worldwide frenzy..with international press like New York Times, The Guardian, The Globe and Mail and the Wall Street Journal reporting about this video clip. For those who haven’t watch it, be warned of some rude phrases that the ‘uncle’ used. The video became so famous that the phrases used, eg You have pressure…Not resolved..became popular catchphrases in Hong Kong. Although some people commented that the young man is too weak, I think that sometime…we should jus let the other ‘win’. But depends on wat issues are involved la. Of coz we don budge from our core belief or wat we believe that’s right. Apart from that, think its ok. There is a Chinese saying that goes ‘Those who have a BIG heart, won’t remember the faults of those that are SMALL-hearted’ (direct translation)..haha

Trust God

remembered a friend once said that sometimes when we meet challenges, it is to bring out somethin in us…virtues or even hidden talents or to remind us of somethin..God knows us the best and wudnt give us somethin we cant handle. although it is always easier said than done, when encounter some downs in life, it mite not be easy to look at things in that light.  but i always felt more motivated when think of it that way. hope this will help u thru when u tripped in the journey of life :)

When God leads you to the edge of the cliff,

Trust Him fully.

Only one of the two things will happen;

either He wil catch you when you fall,

or

HE will teach you how to fly.

3rd_yr1st_sem yup, its exam time again…everyone is so stressed..me too ;( haha. a big THANK YOU to the thoughful angel that actually gave some smart beans for me to eat. and they actually work!!! u’ve made my day :) thanks. GAMBATE everyone !! don forget to eat some smart beans :P

im stil alive!!!

wow, suffocated…this sem has been quite a ride, at least for me…today is the 2nd last day of the Easter break..and after tomorrow, the fun ride begins again. looking forward for that! frankly, hav a mixed feeling about this sem. very busy…thats obvious. and pretty fulfilling as well. beginning to live a uni life…sadly im saying this inspite of being in uni for 3 yrs d. but oh well, its late better than never i guess. not so much accomplished out of that. but its a good start..haha. nway, herd from Raul and his frens the other day about going to Milford Sounds…they say is so beautiful…think shud go there too…must be a great experience..makes me looking forward for the next holiday..so when is the next one? june? started to lose track of time..with this busy life. oh well, as they say, its good to be busy, it makes u feel that ur stil alive. i guess in the midst of busy life, the most important thing is to remember each one’s priority gua…look who’s talking? haha. hopefully, i will remember my priority too :)

Forgotten

This is one of my random thoughts….hehe…Remembered watching a mini series few weeks ago while I was doing orchard work. It’s about the famous wizard in King Arthur’s period, Merlin. In the end of the show, Merlin sort of ‘defeated’ the villain, Queen Mab. Instead of finishing the life or death battle with her, Merlin left her. Yes, that is the way to defeat her, to forget her…. Sounds Ilogical? There is some truth in it I guess. Most people like attention or rather need others to take note of. Why some people do things that are obviously wrong sometimes…to get attention from others? Why do people struggle so hard in life to get this and that….to let other knows that they exist? It would be terrible, scary when someday, no one takes note of u or care of ur existence…being forgotten. But some would say, live the life as u think u should, don care about what others think. But people are often fragile… So wat am I trying to say?  I guess is to pay some attention to the people around u. Being neglected by others would be miserable…(Have that feeling sometimes :P) Come to think of that, what would it be like to be forgotten by God?

The longest job was 2 weeks while the shortest was 3 days. I was sent back 3 times out of 4 jobs I was in, due to bad season. Indeed, the fruit season this year is very bad. All the rain and wind caused damage to the fruits. In fact, I had a 2 weeks break in between, as the orchard no longer needed me then L So not much of money earned this time. Thankfully, I had a great experience out of that. Been to lots of places, met different kinds of people from different countries. Made new friends. On the last few days, I was offered to stay with my kiwi colleague’s family that I knew from work. I ended up camping, fishing and golfing with him and his family & friends. Quite an experience…Nway, glad to b back J
