its me again…erm..Maybe shudnt b using ‘again’ coz the last update was bout few months ago. Haha. So wat have I been up to? Had been back to uni for a month now…somehow it’s quite relaxed… or maybe its just me that is lazy..after working for 3 months, kinda like student life now…as a student, u can always hang out with frens, skip lectures when u don like going…when u out there working, it can be quite stressful coz u mite lose ur job any minute and some of ur colleagues could be sabotaging u from behind!! Haha… And it’s so easy to lose ur direction when ur too occupied with work…9 to 5 everyday…by the time u get home, ur so tired that u jus wana sit in front of the TV and do nothing…days after days, months or even years go by without us realizing it..that’s why time management is especially crucial then…have to set ur goal straight…and try to stay focus…whether it’s to spend more time with ur family, loved ones, frens….serve the church…take up a hobby…a sport…anything…it requires self-discipline and commitment to do so….at list that is what I felt after a rather short working duration…sort of appreciate when hearing other ppl saying..student life is far better than work life…I guess u will nvr appreciate things until u’ve lost it..haha…thank God I’m given the chance J
Moved into a new flat…actually it’s the 4th months im here d. what can I say? This flat is super good..by Dunedin standard I think. Warm, both the house and the flatmates..feel so much like a home now…I have finally moved into a non-nerd flat!! At list they are more happening…Although they are 2 doctors, a dentist, and a postgrad pharmacy student …Yay…. Ya, like it very much…its quite near to uni, gym, shopping centres….cant complain …and its cheaper than my flat last yr…wher can u find this kind of flat…lol
More involved in church activities this yr… the youth groups at least…started a bible study group with some frens… being a person that radiates negative thoughts and energy all the time…have to thank God for having this group…have given a thought about it for a while..but the questions has always been lingering…what if no one turns out….what if I misled the members…how should the structure be… what if I don’t have the time…but fortunately I have been blessed with supports and encouragements…though its still a small group now…at list I have tried I guess…that’s my principle nowadays…we can only do our part…give it our 100%… and if others don appreciate or grab the opportunity..then its their loss…
Along with 5 other pharmacy coursemates…we are currently doing a small research…it will be something like a thesis…but not that long….its about medicine wastage…about how much government is wasting…. As NZ subsidize most of the drugs prescribed…lots of them unfortunately are being wasted…either coz the patient didn’t take them due to side effects, plain ignorance, ineffectiveness, or simply coz they no longer need them..its quite interesting..mayb we can come out with suggestions to tackle the issue…lol..or mayb publish them…woooa…kidin..
Btw, have been more active in sports nowadays…got a gym-buddy who is also very interested in arts..like me…haha..and we are in the same group for research as well..so kinda convenient…its always good to have the support from frens…so its kinda cool…haha…
Hmm…easter season now..marking the start of winter season….i mean autumn…scary…getting colder now as I speak….hmm…hope this yr would be a fruitful yr…my new year resolution….to get out of my comfort zone…that basically sums it up…
Hows bout u guys out there? Sorry haven been keeping in touch with u guys…wud like to hear from u J do drop me a message or two ya. K, take care and God bless !!

Yo..its now a week now, since my exam ends..have been quite busy lately..talk about holiday!! So wat have I been busy lately? B4 I go on, I think its better for me to give a recap of wat have I been doin for the last few weeks…this is gonna b abit long..haha..bear with me:P
First, the visit to Home for the Elderlys, managed by Little Sisters of the Poor. The timing was bit closed to exam though..haha. The trip was organized by my fellow Legion of Mary members and that was my first visit to an old folks home..Looking at the residents there, some are mentally impaired, others challenged in terms of health conditions. Yet, the sisters there are still patient and have their minds intact. Before this, I have browsed thru internet finding info about wat a caregiver actually does (I wanted to get a job. In fact, at one stage thinking of becoming a caregiver since can’t get any other jobs)..so wat have I found? Quite a big percentage of caregivers suffer depression….imagine urself, facing ppl that are mentally impaired or terminally ill…everyday..oops, sounds like a health professional’s everyday life:P anyway, if I were given this kind of job, I would certainly be depressed…so when my fren asked me wats my thoughts after the visit? My answer was- what a high level of patience that the sisters have. But my fren’s reply made me ponder- it can be trained …True..how many of us are born to b patient and gentle? It takes time to nurture the virtues and some have to b trained. So often, I use the excuses eg ‘this task is sooo not for me’…perhaps when I face a difficulty next time, I should remember that it takes both time and thru training I can be better in handling things that im not good at, eg patience
Next was the exam period..although this sem has been more interesting, as we learnt about things that are more relevant to our everyday life…the diseases that we heard so often in the media…eg diabetes, heart attack, colds, flu….and their appropriate treatment….it’s interesting…but the amount of work…to me, it’s a lot..far greater than prev semesters…though mos of my classmates don think so…haha….mayb im the one being left behind in studies..nway, loads of reading and self study…in the finals, I kind of screwed up in my oral exam too: ( fortunately, my written exam are not as bad…I think …hope it wil be alright…to take special exam wil be a pain in the arse….haha..esp to apply for leave…not sure my boss wil b happy..haha..
And then, it’s over!! My exam is over…which is now…the current status. Unfortunately, I’m currently working in Little India, the Indian restaurant part time at night as waiter…and oso in a pharmacy in the morning..i work from 9 to 530pm..and then from 7pm to 930pm or sometime 10pm…rili crazy… I know…but its quite fun I must say….my boss are nice…and the staff members too…in both pharmacy and restaurant..although I broke glasses, give the dishes to wrong customers, type te labels wrongly, give the wrong medicine (oopss :P), my boss(es) din scold me..they jus reminded me…I think THAT shud be the proper attitude a senior or a leader shud have. …i always disagree with the leaders that scold subordinate in a middle of a crisis…when ur in it, the main purpose is NOT to point ur fingers finding WHO made the mistakes..its to SOLVE the prob!!! Do u think ur subordinate is not stressed enuf? Do u think he needs ur criticism to realize his/hers mistake at that time? U can have all the time in the world when the crisis is over, or during a review meeting…but not in the middle of a crisis, when ppl are stressed enuf!!
Ok, enuf of grumbling..haha..watched some movies too the other day…im quite amazed with myself, having time to watch movies despite having a top priorities to accomplish…cleaning up my room..nway, watched X-Men3, Narnia, Star Wars 3 …I know, all these are from ‘n’ years ago..but I have been busy ma…:P All of them are not bad…if u look at them closely, u wil notice they are actually quite meaningful…seriously..esp Narnia..think it was worth watching again..
Ok, its now time to get back to cleaning y room..wil kip all f u who r interested, updated with my life..won b goin back to Malaysia this yr…so im stuck here…so don expect much la…u shud hav known by now…there isn’t much interesting things here in Dunedin
nway, tak k to my friends and families…May God bless us all : )

Had a discussion session recently. The topic was regarding thoughts, words and actions. The question was whether they should be consistent. The answer seems obvious but sometimes we did contradict ourselves. If we think closely, what we say and do actually reflects what we think and what our heart says. Some may argue the statement is not necessary true. What we do is not what we actually are. But being human as we are, the impression that we give others often, whether we like it or not, says a lot about our personality and character. For example, if you see a person is with his bunch of friends who are drunk and making a commotion, while he is still sober but is drinking, what would u think? The person might have very high alcohol tolerance hence would by the end of the day still remain sober but an outsider might not realize that. He might think that he will end up like his friends and will cause a scene. That will be a bad impression for others and possibly will mislead others too.
So I guess for whatever we say and do, we have to think beyond ourselves. Yes, by the end of the day, it is between us and God, as long as we ourselves know we are right. But in our everyday life, we are essentially portraying to others what we believe in also.
"Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea. Woe to the world because of things that cause sin! Such things must come, but woe to the one through whom they come! (Matthew 18: 6-7)
It’s difficult but I guess we can always try our best to be a good role model, a good witness to Christ J Gambate!!!

Shopping: Hazardous to Men’s Health
By Mitch Stacy, Associated Press Writer
LONDON, 2 Dec 98 (AP) — Men who detest Christmas shopping have a new excuse — it’s hazardous to the their health. Male stress levels skyrocket when faced with crowded stores, choosing gifts and standing in check-out lines, a British researcher says.
"In some cases, when we looked at heart rate and blood pressure, this is something you’d expext to see in a fighter pilot going into combat or policemen going into dangerous situations," said psychologist David Lewis, who did the research.
Lewis’ consulting firm was commissioned for the study by the Brent Cross Shopping Center in north London as part of its efforts to reduce shoppers’ stress during the Christmas season. Lewis recruited 35 shoppers and sent them last month to stores in London’s crowded Oxford Street with identical Christmas lists. Shoppers ranged in age from 22-79. Two-thirds were women. Some went alone and some were accompanied by children. Heart rate and blood pressure were regularly recorded by monitors worn by the shoppers, who were interviewed by a researcher before and after the trip.
Every man in the survey registered considerable increases in blood pressure and heart rates while only one in four women registered a significant change. Most men surveyed admitted that the stress of Christmas shopping would make them choose the first gift they see rather than spend time in crowded stores. Loud music in some stores also added to the stress for male shoppers, Lewis said.
Lewis, who is writing a book about consumer shopping habits aimed at retailers, said it all probably comes down to women generally being more experienced and comfortable with shopping. "Men like shopping, provided they’re going out to buy a Lear jet or a Porche or a computer or something, a toy for a boy," he said. "But when actually forced to do domestic shopping, that’s then they become very stressed out and very fed up."
Dr. Mark Copley, a psychologist at St. George’s Hospital Medical School in London, said Lewis’ research generally makes sense. It is especially notable, he said, because women have higher stress levels than men to begin with. "It sounds intuitively like men don’t like shopping anyway and would find it stressful," he said.
